Огромное количество экшена для Android грешит унылой, однообразной и приедающейся музыкой. Но Hail of the King: Deathbat совершенно другая. Эта игра — своеобразная история популярной американской хэви-метал группы Avenged Sevenfold, рассказанная ими самими: музыканты не только принимали участие в разработке уровней и декораций, но даже написали несколько треков специально для этой игры.

Игра сделана, в первую очередь, для фанатов группы: на каждом уровне находится множество предметов, которые являются отсылками к текстам песен Avenged Sevenfold, названия песен дали имена уровням, а мертвец, который помогает герою советами, зовут The Rev — это кличка ударника группы, который умер в 2009 году. В ходе игры вы будете получать монеты и бонусы вроде зелий, восстанавливающих здоровье. Деньги вам потребуются в магазине, однако не всё в нём можно купить за внутриигровую валюту. Так, например, чтобы получить возможность играть за одного из участников группы с его особым, персонифицированным мечом придётся заплатить реальные деньги.

Графика в игре довольно средняя, и оценить детище Avenged Sevenfold и студии разработчиков Subscience Studios по достоинству смогут либо фанаты группы, для которых здесь приготовлено немало сюрпризов, либо любители тяжёлой музыки.

Deathbat is a 3rd person, overhead dungeon crawler action RPG in the vein of The Legend of Zelda, Gauntlet Legends, and Diablo. The game’s story is based on the mythical origin of the Deathbat, Avenged Sevenfold’s logo and mascot. The game’s design is not for the faint of heart as players will need to traverse massive levels, combat skillful undead, and best unforgiving bosses. The epic story follows Andronikos, the resurrected King of the Underworld and the embodiment of the Deathbat, who is tasked with reclaiming the lands of Haides from the despotic Dark Andronikos. Along the way you’ll mix and match brutal melee combat with projectile magic attacks battling through beautifully designed and hellish landscapes inspired by the band’s iconic discography and artwork. Interact with characters along the way to solve puzzles and unlock the mysteries of Moros Island.
